BUILDING YOUR BEATS

In this month-long course, learn how to make your drums bangin’ while exploring various approaches to building your beats. From start to finish, you will go through the process of creating your drum ideas from scratch, editing them to work within the context of the music, and finessing them by adding effects. Topics covered will include: drum programming with Ableton Live’s drum racks, laying down ideas with both MIDI and audio clips, drums workflow, effects processing, the relationship between drums and the other musical elements, music theory, and more.
